Vacuum insulated containers are handy because they maintain the temperature of the liquids inside them for extended periods of time. But stainless steel has a cold, industrial feel to it. As something our hands and mouths both come into contact with, we wanted to afford it a more approachable feel. The subtle fluctuations across the surface lend it a sense of ambiguity and soften its presence.
